Under 10's : Inkberrow Eagles 1-3 Broadway Youth Utd
So last game of the season, and what an ending. We went into this game with second place still up for grabs. Win and we would grab second, draw or lose and it was Broadway's. And to the credit of the team they played all the way through to just be pipped to second place. The first half was an edgy affair. Both teams probing for a breakthrough, but none seeming likely in the early exchanges. It was Broadway who made the breakthrough on approx. 10 minutes. And back came the Eagles. Increasing pressure brought a corner 5 minutes before the end of the first half and Harry S whipped in what is now becoming his speciality, straight into the top right hand corner of the net. What a goal! So the teams went in 1-1 at the break. Still all to play for. The second half started the same as the first, edgy, probing. And then Broadway sneaked a second with 15 minutes left to play. Inkberrow changed formation to chase the game as two goals were now needed to win. But the wind had picked up and was now in their faces. Each push forward was equally repelled by the weather as it was the opposition. And then heartache - with 5 minutes to go a long shot from Broadway arrowed into the bottom corner. Game over. But what a game, what a season. Highs and lows, but many more highs. Courageous football, players really connecting with each other, the passing has come on massively and the results have followed. For this game, in recognition both for his stubbornness to not let Broadway through, but also for the previous 7 games, man of the match goes to Alex, who has brought a solidity and consistency in goal which has provided the platform to play for second place in the final game of the season - well done everyone! And now to pre-season and preparing for the 9v9 challenge next season - bring it on - come on you Eagles!

Under 11's Inkberrow Eagles 2 - 5 Broadway United Youth
This game really epitomised our whole session. Again playing with only 9 players we put in a great effort and commitment against a well organised team, but fell short due to tiredness and no subs. A great shame as again Jake was out standing in defence, great saves from Duncan (including a saved penalty) and Will's first goal - a header from a looping cross. All the boys played well and have improved over the year. Man of the match Jake
