Under 12's : Evesham 2-5  Inkberrow Eagles

Away to Evesham on a late morning this was a hard game. However we started brightly and Greg scored within the first minute - in trade mark lightening speed. This was followed by Will scoring from a corner and Harry one on one with the keeper belting it in. Evesham got two back when the ball bobbled in the box and they looked reinvigorated. We took a lot of pressure and Evesham played some nice passing football. However we held on with Max taking the ball forward, Lewis have a shot and some strong defending from Ben K and Ben W. On the break Greg was deadly and he scored two more. Good play from all, particularly tireless Dan and Jake but we need to remember our passing game and shape. Well done to all. Man of the Match awarded by Evesahm Manager to Greg. Well done.
Under 11's : Inkberrow Eagles 3-3 Broadway Utd Youth
In the rarified atmosphere of the B League, the Eagles are starting to find their feet. Previously without more than a solitary goal here or there, but not so much as a sniff of a draw let alone a win against Broadway, this match could have proved pivotal. With an ever strengthening squad, the team played some nice football throughout the first half, with good covering defending and some fine passing. That the goal that separated the teams at half time was a solo effort was testimony to the never say die spirit and strong drive of Luka, taking the ball on the half way line and evading several strong challenges to final dispatch a lovely low finish which crept in off the post. 1-0 to the Eagles at half time. The second half continued in the same vein. A challenge on James saw a free kick awarded to Inkberrow just in the opposition half. Harry S launched a lovely free kick into the penalty area which Ed nodded into the far corner of the net. Wow, what a finish. Then a moment of exquisite finishing from the edge of the area from Harry S - what a volley from Ed pass. Bang, 3-0. The Eagles were flying. But Broadway are made of stern stiuff and 3 goals in 8 minutes saw a very nervous final 7 minutes which the Eagles saw out. First point on the board and a great team effort. Joseph ran himself into the ground (literally), Pierce covered delightfully and with Jack as captain for the day there was definitely a positive and never say die attitude. All players are developing well and really starting to fight for each other and gel....this weekend sees the visit of Droitwich Spa Kestrels - come on you Eagles!
